The idea began with a group of teachers sharing heartbreaking stories of their students. Many of them obviously struggling with hunger, hygiene and other basic needs not being met. Teachers were spending a lot of their own money to help them. 

Kid's Koalition was created to help teachers care for the kids so they can make a positive impact in their lives without distraction. 

The majority of programs and resources for low income families are located in Mobile, a 35 mile drive from Citronelle. One which many people living in poverty are not able to make regularly. 

There are many children that attend Citronelle's schools that come from more remote areas with even higher poverty rates. 

Students are not able to focus in class if their basic needs are not met. 

We provide supplies in a "Care Closet" that any student can access discreetly anytime with the help of the school staff. We will keep the closet stocked and shop for additional items as specific needs arise.
